Hi, I'm Jon Spruce and I'll be your trainer.
I’m a Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Trainer (CST), and what truly sets me apart is my distinctive approach to training delivery.
At its core are three pillars: connection, contextualisation, and continuous improvement, all delivered with humour and grounded in real-world pragmatism.
I pride myself on tailoring my training to meet participants where they are in their Agile journey.
By interweaving personal stories from my diverse industry experiences, I offer relatable insights that allow students to see Agile and Scrum principles in action, bolstering their confidence in real-world applications.

The Certified Scrum Master course aims to provide a fast-track path to understanding the foundations of Agile and Scrum.
It prepares participants to be part of or to interact with Scrum teams. During the day we look at the fundamental concepts behind Agile and Scrum and tackle some of the jargon.

- The Principles and Values behind the Agile Manifesto
- The Scrum Framework
- Scrum Accountabilities, Events and Artefacts
- How Scrum works in different domains
- Separating the myths from the facts
- Real world examples from an instructor with more than 15 years of experience
No, there aren’t! However, we do recommend some pre-reading for a smoother learning experience. For this, you can refer to the Scrum Guide available online.

- An interactive 2 day immersive online learning experience facilitated by a highly respected trainer

- Self-Paced Assessment Tool, to help you assess your foundational Scrum knowledge and review key Scrum concepts

For a reminder of the respective training date and start / finish times – please refer back to your Course Registration email.
Please join the online course 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. This will allow you the time to get yourself settled so that the course can begin promptly.
We will take plenty of breaks throughout the training, however it is also important that you look after yourself and let the group know if you need to take a break.
Prior to attending the course, please familiarise yourself with key Scrum terms and definitions (as described in the Scrum Guide and Scrum Foundations video), as well as the principles and values of Agile – all of which can be found via the following links:
Yes! By completing the course (and the online exam) you’ll earn a Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Master Badge, signifying your foundational knowledge in Scrum. Please note that there is an exam for this course and full attendance is also required.
As this is an online training course, refreshments and food are not included, so please plan accordingly.
